"Integrated Program to Develop Siwa Oasis, Using ICT" project has won AGFUND INTERNATIONAL PRIZE 2010
"A Thank you" to all ICT-TF team; Another Award has been added to ICT-TF successful path in community development. AGFUND INTERNATIONAL PRIZE 2010 has been awarded to ICT-TF.
AGFUND INTERNATIONAL PRIZE 2010 is an innovative and creative means of developmental assistance and financing projects tool. It is the first initiative ever to motivate developmental contributions, pinpoint successful models and disseminate creative ideas to support excellent efforts in the field of development. By doing so, it aims at introducing a breakthrough in developmental work based on scientific grounds.
This year, AGFUND International Prize for the year 2010 targets pioneering development projects in the field of “Development of Remote and Rural Communities through Information Technology and Communication”.
The award has 4 category prizes; First Prize, projects implemented by the UN, International, and Regional Organizations in the field of “Supporting the Developing Countries' National Policies and Programs for the development of remote and rural communities through ICT"; Second Prize, NGOs' projects to support and enhance the ICT applications aiming at developing remote and rural communities; Third Prize, the Role of governments' ministries and public institutions in adopting new innovations to enhance the ICT applications for the development of remote and rural communities”; Fourth Prize, individual led initiatives to facilitate and apply ICT.
It is worth mentioning that four projects in the 4 category prizes have won AGFUND2010 prize out of 28 projects presented by 25 countries in 3 continents.
In 2010, ICT-TF through "Integrated Program to Develop Siwa Oasis, Using ICT" project has scored first category prize. This project was implemented by Egypt ICT Trust Fund, in Egypt.
The winning project for second category prize is "SAWA-ALL the Women Together Today & Tomorrow", in Palestine. This project was implemented by Child Protection Helping Palestine.
The winning project for third category prize is "Open Academy for Philippine Agriculture". This project was implemented by The Philippine Rice Research Institute " in Philippine.
The winning project for the fourth category of the prize is "Burkina Faso Malaria Distance Training Pilot Project". This project was initiated Upon the initiative and effort of : Mr .Ouedraogo Jules , In Burkina Faso.
However, ICT-TF still needs your dedication, creativity and hard work.
It is to be affirmed that, all selected and nominated projects that qualify and fulfill all conditions, are submitted for evaluation and judgment, to a team of experts, accredited for their knowledge and experience in different fields of the Prize. The evaluation guidelines of projects are examined in comparison with principles respecting the philosophy of the AGFUND Prize.
