Qodwa-Tech Concludes Female Entrepreneurs Fourth Batch Online Training, Organizes Support e-Sessions

The Central Department for Community Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has concluded the training program for the fourth batch of female entrepreneurs on social media marketing skills, organized online, as part of the ongoing activities of Qodwa-Tech initiative for empowering women.

The batch included a number of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) who specialize in making handicrafts and heritage crafts. The online training helped the participants, especially PwDs, learn digital marketing strategies and tools, without having to visit the training facility in person, thus staying safe.

The online training, also, helped reach female entrepreneurs in different governorates; it was joined by 30 female entrepreneurs from 11 governorates, including Cairo, North Sinai, Qena, Fayoum, Sharqia, Red Sea, Giza, Qalyubia, Alexandria, Gharbia and Assiut.

In addition, the program provided an opportunity for exchanging experience and knowledge of different technological means, as well as sharing different handicrafts and heritage crafts cultures among areas, thus enriching the experience.

This also helped promote the crafts each governorate is famous for, reflecting one of Qodwa-Tech objectives, represented in preserving and reviving heritage crafts as a cultural heritage, through supporting them using technological tools, to help those working in this field sustain development.

Furthermore, a number of support sessions were organized for the trainees, online, to help them apply what they were trained on during the program. During the sessions, the trainees asked questions and had enquiries to which the trainers replied and followed up with the trainees to help them come up with solutions for the technical problems they face as they market their projects digitally and manage their pages on social media. The trainees, also, discussed the positive impact they experienced managing their pages on social media since joining the training program.

By the end of the ceremony, the trainees received their certificates of attendance and completion.

It is worth mentioning that Qodwa-Tech seeks to empower women through building their digital marketing capacities and helping them gain competitive advantages and added values. The initiative also aims to support women to access global and local markets, to earn more revenue.
